About

Amy Lance creates works of art in watercolor, acrylics, colored pencil, pen and ink, and mixed media collage.  Her work is exhibited locally in juried and non-juried shows, most recently at BlackRock Center for the Arts and the Kentlands Mansion.  She is a member of the Washington Water Color Association and the Art League of Germantown, where she serves on the board of directors.  She was honored twice at ALOG shows with the members’ people’s choice award.

Combining years of experience in fine art, graphic design, writing, and editing, she is currently creating and producing fine artist’s books. One recent project, The Yellow Bird, is a small handmade book based on the poetry of Patricia Jenkins Selanders and illustrated with watercolor vignettes.

A native Washingtonian, she began her career at the National Geographic Society and has since held communications and management positions for federal agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private companies. She recently retired as a senior editor at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

She has received numerous awards and commendations for her work.
